This is a character display from the German Gleichmann Electronics. It has 2 rows of 16 columns each (2 x 16 characters). Black characters over green background, this display can be interfaced using a data bus of 8 or 4 bits, to save pins.
Includes its own character generator, so you only have to call the right character code. No need for bit-to-pixel manipulation.
It is the GE-C1602B-NYG-ET/R version that does not include the backlight. This is the same LCD we use in our AK-STM32-GPS and the AK-STM32-ETH boards.
